THE VILLAGE FAIR
The Historic Jamestown Society holds a free Village Fair every year on the third Saturday in July, so mark your calendar and join us for a day of quilting, spinning, crafts, music, food, fun and games. .
As part of the day's activities adults and children alike are entertained by a number of stories and a variety of colonial games provided by volunteers from the High Point Museum.
A variety of musical acts are usually on hand. Kicking off the a recent fair were Ben Hurley and Gary Johnson, who entertained with guitar, musical saw and bass. That's their photo on the right. They even invited youngsters from the audience to come up and sing and dance along.
The Triad Scottish Fiddlers & Friends are often on hand to provide a number of toe-tapping
tunes from Scotland. They are a group from around the Triad who perform on
fiddles, guitar, dulcimer, and tin whistle.
Rounding up the day's activities are entertainers from Snow Camp Outdoor
Theater. They provide a piece of
musical history about the Underground Railroad with excerpts of their
production Pathway to Freedom.
